Results of the 2021 session of the General Certificate Examination had been released on August the 21st to the great satisfaction of the examination board.

The GCE results this year has witnessed an improvement. The statistics published by the Examination Board indicates that 67 846 passed, recording a percentage pass rate of 72.24% that is 10.87% improvement in the examination general performance compared to last year 2020 where the success rate stood at 64.27%.

The registrar Dang Akuh Dominic placed his appreciation to the various institutions and individuals whose devoted participation contributed to the successful organization of the June 2021 examination and to the government of Cameroon for the financial allocation given to the board for the year 2021.

It should be noted that there has been a disruption in the school calendar because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the academic year calendar had to be readjusted. Instead of May, the examination had to be postponed for 1 month that is it began by the 29th of June 2021 hence the results released later than usual.

Unlike the “Office du Baccalauréat du Cameroun” which also published good results (73.37% success rate in 2021 compared to 47.22% in 2020) that is 26% increase for the Francophone examination, the GCE Board released satisfactory results despite the Covid-19 on the one hand and the various attacks, threats against teachers and students in the Northwest and Southwest regions where some lost their lives because of their desire to go to school.
